摘要: An efficient chemical reactor has been developed to produce O2 (1) and used to power a chemical oxygen-iodine laser. A uniform field of uniformly sized basic hydrogen peroxide droplets generated by a piezoelectric oscillator was reacted with a cross-flowing chlorine stream. The images of droplets caught by a camera shown that the uniform droplets performed well as expected when the generator operated at an optimum condition: the velocity of liquid droplets was 11 m/s and the frequency of the oscillator was 6.38 kHz. In the best condition, the chlorine utilization was 91%, O2 (1) yield was 54% and the H2O concentration in the outflow was 3.8% while the chlorine flowrate was 0.5 mol/s and He flowrate was 1.4 mol/s, approximately 60 torr generator pressure. The maximum laser power was 9.55 kW and the power density through the nozzle was 121.3 W/cm2.
