AbstractThe core of metabonomic is to study the response of organism under extraneous or endogenic stimuli, which takes place in metabolism level. The objects of metabonomic study are the small molecules ( metabolites ). It is widely used in disease diagnosis and the discovery of biomarkers, also obtains the widespread applications in the drug research and development domains. This work took the diarrhea patient''s fecal samples, after treated with organic solvent, as the objects of the study. Fast HPLC/ IT-TOF MS was used to perform the analysis; simultaneously the data was processed by metabonomics software of Phenomenome Profiler M Series. The potential aims were not only to realize the fast distinguishing between the infectious diarrhea patients and the non-infectious diarrhea patients, but also to pursuit the efficient differentiation of different pathogenic origins. Potential biomarkers which are used in differentiating were identified by using the MSn function of LC/MS-IT-TOF.
