摘要: Presently, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an important resource to treat many diseases, which has a long history in China, and is very complicated in chemical composition and pharmacology. Therefore, modernization of TCM is very necessary, including standardization, resourcing, quality control and research on chemical composition and pharmacology. A new concept “Multi-Component Chinese Medicine (MCCM)” defined by us, represents a specific group of chemical composition produced from TCM according to a standardized separation process, which is hopefully to discover the chemical fundament of TCM’s pharmacology. The systematic research on MCCM is basing on modern separation and analytical techniques. Multi-Components (MCs) were produced through systematic separation process. Large quantities (more than 100 kg) of Chinese herbs or traditional prescriptions were extracted according to a standard method in factory by water/alcohol to get “full-components”, and were divided into “solvent partition components” by solvent partition process with different polarity of solvents. “Membrane components”, “macroporous resin component” and “industrial HPLC component” were obtained by separation processes with two kinds of membrane, one kind of macroprous resin column at 4 eluting conditions, and two sets of self-assembled industrial HPLC system, respectively. In addition, Waters auto-purification factory were applied to prepare standards for quality control. MCs were also characterized by systematic analytical instruments. Except “essential oil components” were analyzed with GC6890 and GC6890/MS5973 system, most of MCs were analyzed with Agilent 1100 HPLC, Agilent HPLC/Ion-Trap MSD, Waters Alliance HPLC, Waters UPLC. The ultra-violet spectra, multi-level mass spectra were collected simultaneously. All chromatograms and spetra were managed by a self-designed database, which is possible to trace the component flow through herbs to MCCMs. MCs were further sent to collaboration institutions, such as pharmaceutical institute, pharmaceutical university, and hospitals to evaluate their pharmacology and toxicity. The relative information was also managed with own database. The cardiovascular, endocrine and inflammation diseases are our target objects. Different combinations of active MCs were investigated to carry out best composition to specific disease. Moreover, stability at different temperature, humidity, solution, and preparation process was investigated, which is necessary to develop active and stable MCCM prescriptions. In short, MCCM is a way not only differentiated to TCM, but also differentiated to Western Medicine (WM, in which the concept of pure component was normally adopted), which may be a bridge to link TCM and WM.
