Abstract1. The exothermic reaction of NaH-NH3BH3 triggers the reaction between the NaNH2BH3 formed and unreacted NH3BH3, resulting in NH3 formation in the ball milling process 2.Conditions for ball milling NaH-NH3BH3 have to be carefully controlled to prevent heat accumulation 3.Incomplete or inhomogeneous ball milling leaves NH3BH3 in coexistence with NaNH2BH3 and in the subsequent dehydrogenation process NH3 is vigorously evolved through the interaction of them 4.Heating NaNH2BH3 or LiNH2BH3 in closed system can largely decrease NH3 concentration in hydrogen, NH3 is eliminated in the secondary reaction
