AbstractIn this report, the dynamics of the F+ CH2CHCl reaction has been studied using the universal crossed molecular beam method1. Angular resolved time-of-flight spectra has been measured in a single set of experiments. The reaction channel, C2H2FCl+H, has been observed. Product angular distributions as well as energy distributions were determined for the product channel. Experimental results indicate that the molecular products from the H formation channel are rather backward scattered relative to the F atom beam direction while there are also significant scattering products at the sideway and forward direction. It indicates that the complex formation mechanism plays an important role in the reaction, but there might be some significant contribution from a direct reaction mechanism or a short-lived complex channel. The reaction mechanism is analogous to the H formation channel in the reaction: F+C3H42.
