AbstractThe synthetic mechanisms involved in making microporous materials (such as Fe-ZSM-5, zeolite X and AlPO-5) have been investigated with resonance and in situ UV Raman spectroscopy. The precursors and intermediates evolved in the synthesis solution and gels as well as the roles of the transition metal species, primary units and organic templates played in the framework formation have been studied. The synthesis mechanisms are proposed based on the molecular information from spectroscopic results. This work demonstrates that in situ UV Raman spectroscopy is a powerful technique specially for studying zeolite synthesis mechanism.
