英文摘要Ethanol is one of the dominating volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the printing industry and one of the exhaust emissions from ethanol-fuelled vehicles, which is hazardous to the environment. Catalytic combustion is one of the most promising routes for effective removal of VOCs. Manganese cerium mixed oxides have been developed as environmental friendly catalysts for the abatement of ethanol. It has been well acknowledged that the catalytic performance was depended on the formation of manganese cerium solid solutions, the volatile valence states of manganese active sites and the oxygen storage capacity of ceria. One-dimensional nanoscale structures (nanowires, nanorods, and nanotubes) have stimulated significant interests in material chemistry due to their unique catalytic, electronic, magnetic and optical properties in the past few years. Up to now, synthesis of one-dimensional nanostructures of manganese cerium mixed oxides is seldom concerned. In the present work, the manganese cerium mixed oxides nanorod and nanocube were synthesized by hydrothermal method through simply controlling alkali concentration and the hydrothermal temperature.
