Application of ionic liquid in Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort Extraction using Microwave-assisted Method

英文摘要Bioactive ingredients are extracted from Traditional Chinese Medicine using bulk volatile organic solvents and lots of time. And the organic solvents are pollutant source to environment. So it is urgent to develop new methods for natural product extraction. In this study,a microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) method was developed to extract senkyunolide I, senkyunolide H and Z-ligustilide from Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort. Ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide, was employed as extractant. Factors such as system temperature, extraction time, phase ratio and particle size were studied. The yield of the three target ingredients was compared between MAE and solvent reflux extraction (SRE), and the sample matrix was studied by SEM. The result shows that temperature is the key factor of extraction process; extraction comes to equilibrium within one minute; phase ratio and particle size do not give obvious contribution to the extraction efficiency. Compared to SRE, MAE costs less time and gives higher extraction efficiency. And structural damage was found through SEM study.
