摘要: To rationalize the design of nano-catalysts supported on oxides under the realistic conditions, fundamental understanding of catalytic materials and activity taking into account of temperature and pressure are essential and challenging. I will present a joint theoretical and experimental effort on bridging model and real catalysts for CO preferential oxidation (PROX) in excess of hydrogen. Based on theoretical and surface science study, I will introduce a strategy of constructing a unique ensemble, coordinately unsaturated ferrous (CUF) centers by taking advantage of interfacial confinement between FeO and Pt. The CUF centers constructed was found to be highly active for CO oxidation. The insights obtained were guided the design of supported PtFe nanocatalysts, which shows a super activity, selectivity and stability for CO PROX. The interplay between theory and experiment for bridging model and real catalysts will be highlighted.
