摘要: Biomarkers are of great importance in disease diagnosis and treatment as well as drug discovery and development. They are the big molecules (proteins, for example, CEA, CA 125, PSA etc.) or small molecules (for example, glucose, creatinine, TG etc.), generally in the body fluids, less in tissues. With the development of science and life level, new biomarkers are more and more required to improve the sensitivity and specificity. Metabolomics is one of –omics to invistigate the endogenetic small molecules in an organism. It has shown greater and greater potential in disease subclassification and new biomarker discovery. Although so, the some key bottlenecks are still to be covered, for example, 1. Standardized sample collection and store procedures to reduce the influence of non-studied factors including diet, sample stability etc. 2. Standardized sample pretreatment and analytical procedures, 3. Standardized data handling procedure 4. Functional analysis of important metabolites and biological explanation In this presentation, we would like to review our research results applying the metabolomics method to the disease biomarker discovery and confirmation, the focuse will be on the metabolome information collection, data analysis, differential metabolite discovery and identifocation as well as biofunction explanation, the typical metabolic disease (prediabetes) and cancer will be used as examples to show the new research strategy.
