A functional metabolomics platform based on non-target and target chromatography-mass spectrometry

英文摘要Recently the detection of biomarkers by targeted and non-targeted metabolomics studies is continuously increasing with a special focus on complicated disease research especially on diagnosis and treatment of metabolic diseases. However, until now the majority of studies are descriptive, only the differences in the relative or absolute contents were reported, very few dealt with the function of differential metabolites, Most of the explanation on the function of the detected so-called biomarkers, if there was, was based on the literatures. In this lecture, we shall report a functional metabolomics platform including tissue-specific cell culture with isotope-labelled compounds, target and non-target analyses based on the var-ious chromatography - mass spectrometry methods and multi-variable analysis data analysis. The prediabete and exercise studies will be used as the examples to show the usefulness of our platform.
