英文摘要: The direct epoxidation of propylene to propylene oxide (PO) using molecular oxygen as the oxidant has attracted intense interest in recent years. We have reported that the Cu catalyst is effective for this reaction. In this paper, FT-IR spectroscopy is employed to investigate the adsorption of propylene, propylene/oxygen mixture and propylene oxide on the Cu-NaCl/SiO2 catalyst. It is found that propylene adsorption on the support and catalyst is reversible. For the propylene /oxygen mixture, no formation of PO but acrolein is observed on either unreduced or reduced catalyst. When PO is adsorbed on the support and unreduced catalyst, a ring-open reaction occurs through the interaction of PO with Si - OH on the support surface. The adsorption of PO on the reduced catalyst is more complicated and ketones may be produced.
