AbstractThe reverse microemulsion composed of 5-25% water, 3-15% Span60, 2-10% n-hexanol and 70-90% iso-octane was used as the reaction media to prepare Mn-substituted hexaaluminate catalysts. The diameters of most water droplets in the reverse microemulsion are from 10 to 80 nm. The XRD results indicated that such a reverse microemulsion is favorable to the formation of hexaalummates phase. The heat stability and CH4 combustion activity of the BaMnAl11O19-alpha catalysts prepared with Ba(NO3)(2) as a precursor is as good as the ones with Ba(i-OC3H7)(2).
