AbstractThe microcrystalline triacetylcellulose (MCTA) was synthesized under heterogeneous acetylation conditions, using microcrystalline cellulose material. MCTA was dissolved in dichloromethane and chloroform with the addition of different organic solvents and coated on underivatised silica gel by evaporation under vacuum to prepare the chiral stationary phases (CSPs) for high-performance liquid chromatography. Most of the CSPs show good chiral recognition ability for the resolution of trans-stilbene oxide and praziquantel in our experiments. It was found that aromatic compounds and organic acids affect the cu value when they were added into dichloromethane as coating solvents. It was observed that CSPs prepared with dichloromethane + 10% nitrobenzene lost its chiral recognition for trans-stilbene oxide with 100% ethanol as mobile phase. The best resolution of enantiomers was obtained on CSPs prepared with dichloromethane + 30% phenol as coating solvent.
