AbstractThe progress in direct conversion of methane to chemicals is reviewed. The partial oxidation of methane to methanol and formaldehyde, the oxidative coupling of methane to ethaene and ethylene, and the dehydro-aromatization of methane under non-oxidative conditions are discussed in detail.
