英文摘要: Electrohydrodynamics (EHD) deals with the motion of fluids driven by an electric field applied to the fluids. The main application of EHD in microsystems is an electrokinetic pump (EKP) technique including two important types of EKP, electrophoretic pump (EPP) and electroosmotic pump (EOP). These unique pump techniques are widely used to move chemical and biological fluids in channels with extremely small cross sections, ranging from square millimeters to square micrometers and even to nanochannel size. Recently, there are many fabrication techniques for various EOP such as packed-bed, polymer monoliths, parallel channel, nanochannel and microporous membrane pump, showing]Its integration in microsystems and promising applications such as capillary liquid chromatography, flow injection analysis and drug delivery. The microfabricate and related techniques of EKP are reviewed.
