AbstractCatalyst aging is one of the most important factors that results in the performance losses in fuel cells. For low temperature fuel cells, the aging of noble metal catalysts manifests itself in the growth of catalyst particles, the oxidation changing of noble metals, the migration and loss of catalyst components, and the corrosion of carbon supports. In this paper, the latest progresses in the aging of noble metal catalysts in low temperature fuel cells were reviewed, and the four factors responsible for the catalyst aging were discussed.
