Synergistic Catalysis of Fe2O3 and TiF3 Additives on the LiBH4-MgH2 Composite

英文摘要Five systems (2LiBH(4)-MgH2, 2LiBH(4)-MgH2-10% Fe2O3, 2LiBH(4)-MgH2-10% TiF3, 2LiBH(4)-MgH2-5% Fe2O3-5% TiF3 and 2LiBH(4)-MgH2-10% Fe2O3-10% TiF3) were prepared by hall milling. They were investigated through thermogravimeteric analysis (TG), diffraction scanning calorimetric (DSC), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared spectrometer (FTIR) and pressure-content-temperature (PCT). The addition of Fe2O3 and TiF3 improved the hydrogen release property of the LiBH4-MgH2 complex system effectively. Especially, the codoped system (2LiBH(4)-MgH2-10% Fe2O3-10% TiF3) starts to release hydrogen at around 110 degrees C and can release as much as 9.6%. Besides, the results of PCT show that the codoped system (2LiBH(4)-MgH2-5% Fe2O3-5% TiF3) can release about 8.6% hydrogen within 10 min at 400 degrees C. The properties of the codoped system are better than the other two single doped systems, which partly incarnated the synergistic catalysis of Fe2O3 and TiF3.
